Frost Family Pet Clinic is seeking an exceptional veterinarian to join our small animal practice. We currently have an opening for a FT or PT doctor who has superior diagnostic, surgical and people skills.

Our fast-growing clinic is located in Loves Park, IL on the north edge of Rockford. There’s something for everyone, whether you like the city scene or the rural atmosphere.

We pride ourselves on being the only Fear Free Certified practice within a 50 mile radius! Providing a low-stress environment for our patients allows for better outcomes for everyone. Our team is comprised of fun and highly skilled certified technicians to help your day run more smoothly.

We are a privately owned clinic… no corporations here! There is also a nearby emergency clinic allowing our doctors to be free of after-hours emergency duties. Your time away from the clinic is truly yours.

We have many amenities to make daily practice enjoyable. Our updated practice operates with paperless charting. Each of our three exam rooms has a computer for easy record entry. We also have digital radiology, a brand new high speed dental machine and surgical monitor, digital dental radiology, Idexx in-house CBC, chemistry and urine analyzers, electric lift tables and scales, cold therapy laser, tonometry, cryotherapy and a modern surgical suite.

Frost Family Pet Clinic is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant. We are a growing clinic and are looking to add to our exceptional team!

Frost Family Pet Clinic Goals:
We’re focused on making sure our hospital has the right tools to allow our doctors and medical staff the ability to provide excellent service and care. We provide wellness, diagnostic, dental, digital dental radiographs and surgical services, we also have in house laboratory capabilities.

Who We’re Looking For:
Our staff takes pride in offering loving care to pets in Rockford and surrounding areas. We’re looking for a team player with a “can-do” attitude, capable of exhibiting compassionate candor, and above all, someone dedicated to pets and people. Most importantly, we’re looking for applicants that want to be part of a fun team in a high energy environment.

Schedule:
This position is full time at 35-40 hours. Hours will take place Monday through Friday with occasional rotating Saturdays.

We also have part time positions available at 16-24 hours a week.

Responsibilities: 

• Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
• Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
• Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
• Perform diagnostic imaging
• Perform anesthesia
• Prep patients for and assist in surgery
• Perform dental prophies
• Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
• Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
• Communicate with and educate clients
• Provide compassionate patient care
